Why Indigena believes “naturally derived” skin care products are safe for us.

Contact Dermatitis is the most common skin disorder. It can be caused by an irritant or an allergen. Harsh chemicals cause irritation whereas an allergic reaction happens when our immune system recognizes a substance on our skin as harmful or foreign. The symptomatic reactions range from itchiness, redness, inflamed, swelling, to blistering and or a mild fever
Lips, eyes, ears, neck, and hands are the most affected areas

What causes allergic reactions in beauty products? The most common are formaldehyde, fragrances, and preservatives such as sodium lauryl sulfate and dicaprylyl maleate to mention a few. Synthetic molecule fragrances are not recognized by our bodies as safe. The human body synthesizes natural ingredients most readily.

How do we react when our body comes in contact with a product that is unacceptable to its immune system?

Migraines, asthma, and skin reactions are most common however children’s immune and nervous systems may react more aggressively.

Indigene Organic Skincare

These Organically prepared products have an innovative preservative system. The combined properties of rooibos extract, vitamin E, black willow bark extract, rosemary oleoresin and neem oil at specific levels that have created a synergetic preservative system that is very effective and more healthy for you.

The preservative system is broad spectrum and stable, however the products do require special care and handling. Air and light can react with these products. Each product has a 12 month shelf life from the time it is opened.

The products have a pleasant unique natural aroma that comes from the preservative system. Color variation can be expected for Indigene Organic Products. The extracts cause color variations from time to time. This is a completely natural product and natural variation cannot be controlled. It does not change the effectiveness of the products.

All products lids should be closed firmly and stored in a cabinet with stable and consistent temperature. Typical room temperature is 68-77 degree F (20-25 degrees C) which is the perfect storage temperature for cosmetics. When cosmetics of any kind are stored at higher temperatures the preservative system can be significantly deteriorated.

Don't leave products in your car as freezing temperatures/excessive heat will cause products to separate and deteriorate.

Welcome to the purity and passion of Indigene, nature bottled for you.
